Developing a Generic CASE Interface Using an Interactive Framework.

Luiz Fernando Capretz, Miriam Akemi Manabe Capretz: Developing a Generic CASE Interface Using an Interactive Framework CSIT 1999 : E/E

Abstract

Frameworks are at the forefront of new approaches to the production of complex software systems. The graphical features of a CASE environment have been developed using an interactive framework (InterViews) which assisted in the design and implementation of its user-friendly interface. The InterViews library is a framework for creating GUI components. Reuse of software involved inheriting C++ classes from several template-based classes; by adding functions to the reused templates functionality was automatically added to the concrete classes implementing the details of the interface. The results obtained from this work clearly show that the use of an application-domain framework can substantially increase software development productivity.
