Abstract

The aim of this work was to build a computational model for the synthesis of indole-3-acetic acid (IAA) in the bacterium Azospirillum brasilense. The effects of six water-soluble vitamins on tryptophan-dependent synthesis of IAA in Azospirillum brasilense were investigated. A multifactorial mathematical analysis was carried out to build models for IAA synthesis versus concentrations of tryptophan and the vitamins added to the bacterial growth medium. The models permit one to establish the optimal conditions for IAA biosynthesis, and to predict the bacterial IAA release.
