The Server Cluster for a Task Management Service.

Igor Yu. Zhukov: The Server Cluster for a Task Management Service CSIT 1999 : E/E

Abstract

An important characteristic of many software systems is fault tolerance. Systems with increased fault tolerance are known as clusters. A special network service for clustered network systems, called task management service, is developed at the application level, which performs functions like network scheduling, server load smoothing, application control etc. Servers in the cluster are controlled by the cluster manager. Such a design provides more efficient use of serverware and increased fault tolerance of the entire system.
